Israelis in Toronto
Toronto has one of the largest and most organized Israeli and Jewish communities outside Israel, concentrated in North York, Thornhill, and Vaughan.
Where to Live
North York (Bathurst and Sheppard corridor) is the traditional heart of Toronto's Jewish community. Thornhill and Vaughan (further north) have become popular with Israeli families for their newer housing, good schools, and strong community infrastructure.
Israeli Community & Organizations
The Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto, the Israeli Consulate General, and dozens of synagogues serve the community. Active Facebook groups, WhatsApp networks, and Israeli businesses make Toronto feel connected to Israel.
Hebrew and Jewish Schools
Toronto has an extensive Jewish day school network including Associated Hebrew Schools, TanenbaumCHAT, and others. Hebrew language instruction is available in multiple formats. Five or more schools teach Hebrew as a primary subject.
